Disorderness is the way of life: Natural
Disorder! A term which I think is very familiar to us as kids, as we all must have heard this multiple times at home from our mothers, for not keeping our dresses or books in “Order or in Place.” Back then this would have just been our mood buster, but disorderness has so much more in-depth meaning; in next some paragraphs, it will not just be me, but most of the readers who would agree and have a great realization, and a complete different perspective towards the term “Disorder.” This topic has gained attention with the alarming levels of stress in everyday life, this deserves some attention. Yes you read it correct “Disorderness” is related to “stress” in our lives! And it’s more interesting to know that it occurs naturally. This is also the reason why keeping things “in Order” takes a lot of effort.
Have you ever noticed that despite you keeping all your things in order and in place on your table, they intentionally or non-intentionally end up getting messed? If “yes” then great, you have knowingly/ unknowingly experienced disorderness. If your answer is a “no” then just observe your organized table for some days after reading this, and I am sure you will be amazed!
Scientific explanation of disorderness
In basic scientific language, there is a term called “Entropy” that tells us about the “Disorderness or Orderliness” of a system. We all must have heard this or read this at some point in our lives, “entropy of the universe is always increasing.” This entropy is defined as the sum of the entropies of the system and the surrounding. In our example above, system is the “Table” and surrounding is everything around it. So practically entropy can be explained as: the energy required to keep the table in “Order”, so making the table in “Order” reduces the entropy associated with the table, but to do this we have to spend some energy and this adds to the entropy of the universe.
Realization for betterment of life
A quote from the famous scientist Arthur Eddington, “The law that entropy always increases holds, I think, the supreme position among the laws of Nature.” This can be evident in everyday life, as explained in the above paragraphs. Understanding this helps us to realize that it always takes energy and efforts, a lot in-fact to keep things “in Order” in life! This is obeyed by your body too, it has to do a lot of reflex and continuous actions, like circulating blood relentlessly for our survival. So this should add a sense of awareness to us that we have to put in relentless effort to achieve something great or “Ordered” in life. And more the “Disorder” in life, more is the stress that we experience, thus it is utmost important to put effort to keep things in “Order” to reduce the stress.
